WHAT IS A WOMEN BUILD AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

• It is an opportunity for women, particularly women-led business and industry to come together and highlight the global need for women’s access to safe and affordable housing.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

•  Women Build opportunities are available across the US, including here in the Midlands, and any woman who wants to learn how to build and construct a home is invited to join us.  No experience is necessary.  Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals, and alongside other volunteers and homeowners.  Whether you are learning new skills or adding some new ones, this is a very rewarding experience while improving the community where you live.

ARE MEN ALLOWED?

• Yes, men are welcome.  In fact, the future homeowner or part of the training staff may be men.  Women Build provides a place for women to learn skills needed to build a home, but that does not exclude men from participating.​

Other Ways To Get Involved

Become a Women Build 2023 Ambassador through our Steering Committee 

• Speak to community groups and raise awareness about the Women Build

Examples:  Rotary Club, Church, School Groups, Sororities, Chambers of Commerce.
Encourage them to become a build partner through a contribution or volunteerism.
Make a Personal Contribution 
It doesn’t matter if it’s $5.00 or $5,000 dollars, each donation counts towards reaching our goal of $134,000 (the current cost of completing the construction of a new Habitat home)! Make a Personal Contribution
Nickels for Nails

• Habitat will provide you with coin banks that can be displayed at your business where customers can drop in extra change to go toward the Women Build campaign.

Host a Women Build 2023 Fund Raising Event  

• Create a “GoFundMe” campaign for you and your friends.  
•  A Wine, Cheese, and Hardware Reception for 10 close friends.  

A construction themed reception with information on the Women Build or a presentation by Habitat Ambassadors or Staff.
