Work With Homeowners Who
Work Hard for Their Homes

Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community and all over the world, helping them build or improve a place they can call home. Working alongside volunteers, Habitat homeowners put in hundreds of "sweat equity" hours as they help build their own homes.

Homeowners then purchase and their home and
pay an affordable mortgage.

The self-empowerment created by this opportunity helps homeowner families eliminate barriers to a better, healthier, more financially stable life. We believe that with a little help, we all have the potential to stand on our own.

Meet Renee

Renee | Interfaith Build | Spring 2017
“Habitat has given me the opportunity to appreciate something we’ve never had before.”
Renee began the Habitat program in 2014 and completed her 350 Sweat Equity hours in one year! Renee is a hardworking and caring woman with two daughters and who also provides for her granddaughter. Renee worked hard on her own home, in our ReStore, and came to her friends' builds to share in their excitement of becoming Habitat Homeowners. Congratulations, Renee and thank you to all of volunteers, donors, and sponsors that helped this deserving family work their way into their new homes!

Meet Jazmine (Jaz) and Jermaine

Jaz and Jermaine | Publix Build | Spring 2016
Jaz and Jermaine started the Habitat program in 2014 and jumped right into a fun competition between themselves over completing their sweat equity hours. They completed their 550 hours in just EIGHT MONTHS! Jaz and Jermaine are the proud parents of four boys and, before working their way to become Habitat Homeowners, they resided in a cramped apartment in an unsafe area. When asked, "why do you want to own your own home," Jaz and Jermaine stated: "We want something we can call ours, pass on to our children, and continue to build a solid foundation for our family. We are looking forward to the step-by-step process; we want a home we can say we put our blood, sweat, tears, and hard work into."

Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive. A Habitat home puts families on a new path - one where stability and self-reliance are actually obtainable, not merely aspirational.

We need your help to work toward more successes. Every donation makes a difference.
