Project Play House is a program designed to teach children the pride and joy of homeownership.
The event will be held Saturday, December 9th from 8:30am - 4pm at the Habitat for Humanity Office in Columbia.
Teams will design and build a playhouse for children of Habitat homeowners and Neighborhood Revitalization homeowners in need.
Each playhouse is a pre-cut kit that will take 6-7 hours to build and paint (9am - 4pm) with the help of up to 10 volunteers (5 per shift). The minimum age for youth volunteers is 12 years old. At least two (participating) adults per 5 youth is required.
The building shift will be from 9am-12:30pm with check-in and breakfast at 8:30am. The design/paint shift will be from 12:30pm-4pm with a break at 2pm. At the end of the build day, teams will present their completed playhouse to the children (4pm - 4:30pm).
Cost is $3,000 per team and all proceeds from Project Play House will help build big and little houses in our community. CLICK HERE to view the 2023 event flyer.
