Welcome to the new Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity website.
For more than 40 years, Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity has brought people together around a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves a place to call home. I have the privilege of serving as CEO during the next chapter of that story.
I believe homeownership is about more than four walls and a roof. A safe, stable and affordable home can support better health, provide children with greater stability, help families build financial security and create a foundation for opportunity.
That belief is personal for me. I know what it means for stable housing and homeownership to create a foundation for what comes next. That experience shapes how I approach this work and how I understand its impact.
Housing affects more than an individual household. When families have stable housing, they are better positioned to thrive. When people can afford to live in the communities where they serve, employers can attract and retain the workforce our region depends on. When families become homeowners, they can put down roots, invest in neighborhoods and build assets that create opportunity across generations.
Here in the Midlands, homeownership is becoming harder for many people to achieve and Habitat has an important role to play.
We believe the dream of homeownership should not feel out of reach simply because someone needs a different pathway to get there. We help make that pathway possible through education, affordable financing, individualized support and preparation for the responsibilities of homeownership.
To date, 111 Central South Carolina Habitat homeowners have paid off their mortgages, a powerful reflection of their commitment and the strength of the Habitat model. We measure success by the long-term stability, opportunity and generational impact that homeownership can create.
As we look ahead, we are focused on building more homes while strengthening the organization behind them. We are investing in our people, improving our systems, strengthening financial stewardship, expanding partnerships and listening to our community as we plan for sustainable growth.
