Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that partners with individuals and families residing in Richland, Lexington, and Fairfield Counties, South Carolina to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.  
 
The Habitat program is not a quick process, and requires a lot of commitment to complete. 
 
Attending an Application Meeting is first step; attendance is mandatory in order to apply. Requirements (including financial), general criteria, and how the application process works are all gone over at that time.  We are not able to tell you whether or not you will qualify without submitting a formal application.

We will also be offering a virtual financial planning/homebuyer financial readiness workshop on November 18th at 6pm.  You can register by CLICKING HERE.  The workshop will include general budgeting, holiday budgeting, tax season, and are you financial prepared to apply.  This is not an Application Meeting.

Ongoing Online Option 

• You will be able to view the Application Meeting Presentation during the open period (January 6th, 2026 – January 29th, 2026), complete a quiz demonstrating you watched the presentation, an application will be emailed to you within 72 hours.  The video and quiz will not be accessible until the open period.
  • If you fail the quiz, you will receive an email letting you know that you will need a passing score in order to receive the application
  • If you take the quiz and have not received the application or a notice of failure within 72 hours, it is your responsibility to follow up.  You will also want to check your junk or spam folders.
