Volunteer on a Habitat site and make a difference in the life of a local family in need of a decent place to live.

Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity welcomes individual volunteers, as well as groups of all kinds.

Habitat houses are built almost entirely with vounteers.  In fact, we only have two staff members in construction, so just imagine how many houses we would build each year without volunteers!

Some volunteers have worked with Habitat for years buildeing houses and some are new to Habitat.  Many of our volunteers have never done any construction work before.

If you volunteer at a Habitat build site you may find yourself putting up siding or shingling a roof, installing windows or painting foundations, or maybe doing landscaping on the last day.  You will be instructed by Habitat staff or experienced volunteers who serve as crew chiefs. Just imagine the thrill of helping build a house in eight working days!

Spending a day or even a few hours helping others can be a great team-building activity for a group from your:

  • Workplace
  • Church
  • Family
  • Club
  • Civic Organization
